In case you hadn't heard...

Just in case you haven't heard...

  • Laura will officially be a doctor in 117 days
  • Tyler will graduate in 112 days
  • Laura got in to Salt Lake City's VA residency program (her #1 choice!)
  • We'll be moving to UT the first week of June.
This year is going to hold a lot of changes for us.  We're excited for change but sad to be leaving our home and all the friends we have made here!

Colorado Christmas

I know it's been a month since Christmas but I feel like I am just barely getting back into the swing of things so you will have to pardon my tardiness in posting this. We had one day between Mexico and leaving for Oklahoma. We spent the day in Fort Collins for by little brother's mission farewell.  He did a great job on his talk and is going to be a GREAT missionary!

Because it was our year to spend Christmas in Oklahoma with Tyler's parents we took the opportunity to do a quick Christmas with my family. Nobody ever complains about having 2 Christmases!

A new shirt and tie for Tyler...

A new cookbook for Laura... (which Tyler looks like he is going to enjoy!)

A Snuggie for Laura....well not really, it was just in a Snuggie box. But I acted so excited when I saw the box that my mom felt bad and gave me the actual zebra print Snuggie...don't hate on me cause I know you're all jealous!

Last picture with John before the leaving for the MTC :(

That's Why God Made Mexico

WARNING: Super long blog post to follow.  We spent the first week of our Christmas break in Mexico.  Seeing as I am not good at keeping a vacation journal and heaven knows I won't get around to scrapbooking it anytime soon, I have to blog to document our adventures.  Anyway, feel free to skip all the text and just look at the pictures and don't say I didn't warn you about it's length!

6 couples + 7 days/6 nights + Mexico = TONS OF FUN!!!

All 6 couples (minus Colt who had an interview and came a day later)

SNORKELING:

Sweet Ashley suprised us all with red shirts with sayings specific to each person on them.  We were known as The Red Family to everyone at the resort.  Tyler and I are missing from the picture because "Colt couldn't find us" Suuuure....;)

So we here we are in our shirts--the sayings were perfect! The back of my shirt said "LITERALLY"  It's a long story... for another day.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Julie lathering TJay up with tons of sunscreen.  What a conscious wife! :)
  • TJay carrying Grant up the stairs at Tulum ignoring the sign next to them
  • 8 of us squishing into a cabana (7+Lasca taking the picture)
  • Night time card games featuring Egyptian Rat Slap and Scum
  • Lots & lots & lots of food and desserts
  • Almost a clean sweep by our group of the Tequila game.  We won 3 of the 4 prizes including this shirt.
  • Everyone guaking at Grant everywhere we went. Including Ivan the tour guide who took a particular interest in Grant.
Quotes:
  • I don't think that has alcohol in it.  I've never tasted alcohol but I don't imagine that it would taste like that.
-Kelsey
  • Is that all yours? Can I borrow it for the weekend?
-Ivan the tour guide referring to Grant in a harness
  • After the 5th day of Mexican buffet food-TJay: Grant are you ok? Grant bent over his only 1/2 eaten plate: Ugh....
  • Tyler:  Can I get a side order of TUMS? Waiter: I'm sorry we don't serve those here.

Spending time with my sweetheart and friends for a week-I couldn't have asked for anything more!
