Simple Indulgences

It is so easy to get caught up in the chaos of everyday life. The last few days off of school have reminded me that it's the simple things that truly make life great.
First, I had forgtton how much I love to read. I hadn't read anything for fun since I started dental school 2 years ago. I borrowed this wonderful book from my friend and absolutely loved it. I'm sure most of you have already read it but in case you are slow to jump on the bandwagon like me, I highly recommend it. I can't wait for the movie to come out! (or to start the sequel!)

Second, shoes are simply amazing. I can't believe how a pair of shoes can make you feel gorgeous. Tyler got me a great set of heels for a wedding we have to go to. These aren't the exact ones but they're pretty close. I don't know how I am going to walk in them, but at least I'll be smokin' HOT! Thanks babe!

Happy Birthday Laura and Boomer

Saturday was my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Friday night was girls' night at Ashley's house complete with food, pedicures, GREAT company , and of course lots of girl talk. Thanks for a wonderful night girls! Then Saturday started with me awaking to flowers, chocolate and a card from my wonderful husband. My parents were in town and took us out to lunch. We ended the day with a cookout at the Robinsons. Unfortunately our new camera is in the shop getting fixed so I had to steel these pics from Ashley's blog.

Julie made a great hooker birthday cake that was DELICIOUS!

We have such wonderful friends here in Aurora!

Today Boomer turned one year old. I can't believe we have only had him for 6 months. It feels like he has been a part of our little family from the beginning. Yesterday we took him to the dog park with his buddies Sheamus and Jasmine. He had a great time. Today we took him to PetCo to pick out some toys and treats. Tyler thinks I spoil him, but I just can't help it....he's the closest thing to a baby I'm going to have for awhile.

The cutest dog ever (but I might be partial) ;)

Boomer enjoying one of his new toys!

I think he gets sick of his mommy always trying to love on him!!

Happy May Day.

Yesterday the high was 79 degrees and we woke up this morning to a lovely spring blizzard. This was the view outside our classroom this morning. HUGE snowflakes! Typical Colorado weather. Thank goodness it is supposed to be back in the 70s this weekend. I'm ready for spring!
