YW Olympics

Last week the Miamaids (which in translation means me) were in charge of the combined YW activity. The Miamaid presidency gave me this input- "We want a fun outdoor activity." What better to do in the summertime than  YW Summer Olympic Games!

EVENTS

Event 1: Swimming
Each girl had a tissue paper fish she had to fan across the finish line using only a paper plate.

Event 2: "Holy" Gymnastics
A blindfolded girl fed a powdered donut via string to her teammate laying on the ground below

EVENT 3:Javalin throw
The girls attempted to throw their straw the furthest

EVENT 4: "Poppin" Relay
Teams of 2 or 3. Girls had to fill a cup attached to their shoe/foot via rubberband with popcorn, run across the field, empty their cup in a bucket, and crab walk back to tag their teammate who would then proceed to do the same thing.

EVENT 5: Archery
How many marshmallows can the girls shoot through the hoop with the marshmallow gun?

Even the leaders joined in.

EVENT 6: Shot Put
Teams of 2 toss a water balloon between each other, taking a step back with each toss.

Just 3 teams left:
Amber trying to soak me with an extra water balloon, too bad it bounced right off me!

This was my reaction when Alyssa was successful at soaking my backside!

THE PRIZE: Gold medals for all the girls
My first piping and glazing experience with sugar cookies-I thought they turned out well!

It's a tough life...

Tyler's doing his internship at the Parker  Fieldhouse this summer.  It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it.  For example today he HAD to go to the Rockies games.  All while I'm stuck treating screaming kids in Healthy Smiles.  I'd trade him any day.

Nice seats

Fun From OK

Tylers parents came to visit this last week.  We spent some time Saturday and Sunday with them and went to their ward with them.  Some Sunday pics......

My man is H-O-T!!!!

Some junk in the trunk

Cute mom and son pic

They brought their chocolate lab Belle with them and Sweetpea, (my new sister-in-law's dog).  Boomer didn't know what to do with all these dogs!

Boomer and SweetPea played all night long...seriously all night.  I couldn't believe how they just kept going.  Guess they are best buds now.

Yummy yummy in my tummy

Well here it is....my first fruit pizza.  I borrowed Julie's yummy recipe and made it to take to our fourth of July party.  I thought it turned out quite lovely for my first one.

But I have to be honest here...this is actually the 2nd one I made.  The first one for the 4th lasted about 2 seconds so this was the only shot I got of it.

For the first one I used store bought sugar cookie dough, but for the second one Tyler made homemade sugar cookie crust and it was de-figerlickin-licious! Way to go babe!

Random Happenings

So I really am going to do better at blogging. At least that's what I tell myself. Now that we are in clinic and not in classes surfing the net I just can't seem to find the time to blog regularly. So here's a quick update of what we've been up to.

This summer Tyler is doing his internship (for his Recreation Management degree) at the Parker Fieldhouse. This week they are hosting the Chauncey Billups Basketball camp. This means that Chauncey from the Denver Nuggets has been hanging out with Tyler all week. Needless to say Tyler thinks it is just awesome.

We made an ad! This family picture (Tyler's side of the family) taken 2 December's ago was used by the photographer in an ad. What a good looking family!

Our sad news for the week is our good friends the Hendersons moved away. We are so sad and are going to miss them so much. Here are some of our favorite times with them!!
WICKED the musical with Kendria and Angela, both pregnant with Baby #1 at the time.  Seems so long ago now!

Game night at the Hendersons!
