Christmas Review

We had a great Christmas in Fort Collins visiting my family. Here are some of the highlights!

Santa came to visit and brought us lots of nice things.

He brought Boomer some toys, a bed, a brush, and some nail clippers.

He brought Tyler a coat.  Ho Ho Ho!

My sweetheart got me some VS perfume Mmmm...smells so good!

Dad couldn't believe all the treats Tyler got.

Cute!

We had Christmas dinner with some friends of my parents.  It was delicious!  We spent the rest of the night playing games and of course the Milroys dominated!

Boomer had fun playing with their dog Sparky.  He had to take a break and keep his tush warm by the fire.

WELCOME HOME KT!

My younger sister Katie came home from her mission not too long ago and gave her home-coming talk in sacrament last Sunday.  She served a successful mission in the Baltics-Russian speaking.  We are so proud of her.  She has a wonderful personality and is a joy to those around her.

All of us kids were able to be here in Fort Collins for Katie's talk. My brother Adam and his wife Marie and their son Weston came up from New Mexico.  Weston loved his Uncle Tyler and even asked him to come play with his toys in Albuquerque.  He also liked to tell Uncle Tyler how he went poo poo in his pooper and got smarties as a reward.  Tyler finally found someone who likes to talk about poop as much as he does! ;)

Boomer was jealous and kept trying to climb into our laps while we were taking the picture so we let him in on one.  We knew we were asking too much for a 3-year old and a dog to both look at the camera at the same time.

Poor Boomer

Boomer is the best dog ever.  We've had him for a little over a year now and he is GREAT!  He never barks, is very obedient, and loves to cuddle.  He only has one little problem....he tinkles when he gets too excited.  Whenever we go to my parents' house he spends most of the time in his kennel because he gets really excited with all the people.  So over Thanksgiving we bought him a diaper.  We call it his potty guard.  When we first put it on him he didn't know what to do.  He started walking with his legs straight and stiff as a board.  It was hilarious! I wish we had gotten it on video  He has now gotten used to it and it is nice to be able to have him out of the kennel.

Dental School Prom

This past weekend we had dental school prom.  We'll it's really our holiday party but we all call it prom.  This year a bunch of the girls from my class decided to go 80s style.  Tyler thought they were international students when they first walked in!  (for those of you who know what that means, it was hilarious) We had a great time and even though we had to leave early we left and definitely got some good time in on the Dance floor.  Tyler is known throughout the dental school for his crazy dance moves and everyone was sad we had to leave early, but there's always next year!

The girls looked AWESOME!!

Everyone wanted to slide into a picture with the Milroys.

Twilight

It's funny how a simple book series can take you back and make you feel like a giddy teenage girl.  With less than a week before the movie comes out I thought I should start getting back into the Twilight mania. I took this quiz and turns out I'm most like Bella.  The funny thing is I made Tyler start reading the book so he can see the movie with me and when he finished the first chapter last night and told me "Laura, you're a lot like Bella....akward, afraid to talk to people.  She reminds me of you."  Somehow I don't think that was a compliment.  I just hope he can finish the book in a week!

I'm a Bella! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

I think the description fits me pretty well... especially the impatient, stubborn, and head strong part :)

You are observant, diplomatic and often aim to please. You are unaware of your
attractiveness and despite being uncomfortable with any form of attention, people enjoy your company. You can be impatient, stubborn and headstrong, but you are true to your word and mature for your age, often taking care of your family and enjoying a good book over chatting with girlfriends on the phone

Tribute to Tyler

Today is Tyler's birthday and although he can drive me crazy at times, he is my everything and I couldn't live without him. Since he is turning 28 today I thought I would share 8 reasons why I love him so much.

1. He has the best fashion sense of any man I know.  Most of my cute outfits he has picked out for me.  His most recent purchase for me....red purse for church.  Super cute!

2. He loves to cuddle with me.  And his chest and shoulder make a great pillow.

3.He has gorgeous eyes...if you have ever looked at them you will know what I mean.  Sunburst is what they are called.  Plus he has awesome calves.  All the gay guys love them. Seriously....it's funny.

4. He'll watch chick flicks with me, and he actually enjoys them most of the time.  The notebook is one of our favorites.

5. He does random acts of romance.  He'll surprise me and stop by school to have lunch, or buy my my favorite candy because I had a bad day, or I'll come home to flowers....just because.

6. He makes me laugh.  Even when I am so mad at him I want to scream he makes me crack a smile and has won me over.  All who know him, know what I mean.

7. He loves his family.  Any man who talks to his mom several times a week is bound to be super sweet.

8. Last of all, but certainly not least, he loves me more than any man has ever loved a woman.  He would die for me, he would live for me, he would walk to the end of the earth for me.

I could go on and on, but 8 will have to cut it for now.
Happy Birthday Baby!! I LOVE you!

Halloween Fun!

Last Saturday our ward had a chili cook-off and Trunk or Treating for the kids.  Those of you who know me well know I LOVE to dress up.  So Ty, Boomer, and I put on our costumes and headed out.  Boomer was a big hit with all the kids (he was a great sport. He hated the hat and sulked everytime I put it on him) We had so much fun we had to take some pictures at home too.  Here are a few of our favorites. Enjoy!

                                                                   My FAVORITE:

                                                          Caught him and cuffed him!!
We know who is the law around here!

Of course of friends in the ward gave us a hard time about the costumes ....kinky was the word they kept using.  I don't know where they got that idea. :)

Pumpkin carving

Well it's that time again. Time when for fall and the start of the holiday season. We kicked  off this Halloween by carving pumpkins with Bonnie and Wes last weekend. We got to take Boomer over to play with their dog Nala and meet their new boxer, Nicodemus. It really made me want to get another dog for Boomer to play with. I'll have to keep working on convincing Tyler.

Working hard on making our pumpkins perfect!

Not the best picture, but here are the finished pumpkins.
I did the ghost on the far left and Ty did the skull next to it. Bonnie and Wes did the pirate and RIP gravestone.

Here's a little taste of what we dressing up as for Halloween. Stay tuned for more!

3 birthday parties, 3 BBQs, & 33lbs later...

What a busy Labor Day weekend! It started out with a birthday party of one of the girls in our primary class followed by two of our favorite babies turning one! Little Deacon and Finn both had great birthday parties and made a great big mess out of their cakes. Yummy!

We had a great time at some super fun BBQs. The Robinsons had us all over for a night of good food and fun. What a cute little family!

All the kids (including Tyler) had a good time despite the a bleeding lip and bumped heads.

We then went to the ward Labor Day picnic and finished off the weekend with a BBQ with Bonnie and Wes. We are so lucky to have so many wonderful friends! We had a fabulous time with everyone. There was so much good food to eat we'll have to hit the gym hard this week!

Summer Break!

It's nice to finally have a break from school (even if it is only 3 weeks). Tyler's parents came up from OK to visit for a couple of weeks. We got to spend some time with them here in Denver and then a couple days up in Estes Park and Rockie Mountain National Park.

We saw lots of elk and other critters up close and personal. Sometimes the elk were a little too close for my comfort!

We spent a day in Georgetown where we rode the train and toured a mine. We learned a lot about Colorado history and got to wear some seriously cool hard hats. The mountains were absolutely gorgeous. It's always nice to be reminded why Colorado is definitely the best state!

Estes Park

This weekend we were able to go up to Estes Park with our friends Wes and Bonnie. It was a much needed day trip out of the city, away from work and school. It was Tyler's first trip to the cute little town and my first time back in many years. We walked the streets downtown and checked out all the cute mountain shops.

Later in the afternoon we went horseback riding through Rocky Mountain National Park. Tyler decided he wanted to ride the biggest horse they had, Willie. I stuck with a smaller horse named Penny. It was a beautiful 2 hour ride, but our back ends were feeling it when we woke up this morning! We ended the day with some delicious BBQ at one of the local restaurants. Mmm mmm good! Thanks Bonnie and Wes for a GREAT day!

Yee haw! Ride 'em cowboy!

ROCKIES games

After living in Colorado for almost 2 full years, Tyler finally got to go to his first Rockies game. His friend from high school Matt Mills and his wife stopped in Denver for a few days on their way back to Oklahoma from Danen and Michelle's wedding in Nebraska. We met up with them and Jon Lindblom and his wife for a night of fun at Coors field. We rode the light rail from Aurora to downtown, a first for me (Tyler rides it everyday to school). I think it is definitely worth the money to avoid traffic and parking.

The best part of the night....the Rockies won!!
