Grand Lake

My birthday was immediately followed by a trip to Grand Lake with some of our really great friends. All of us (Buttshaws, McEwens, Cooks, and Milroys) stayed in a big house/cabin.

The boys spent a lot of time fishing

I went with them once, but because I didn't have a license I had to sit out on the sidelines and read...oh darn.
The girls spent lots of time watching movies.....

......And playing games.

I learned how to play Settlers. I don't quite understand why people like it so much, but I think I need to play it a couple more times to really enjoy it. I learned Becky is a freakin' awesome gamer. Really-she was incredible at ever game we played. It's now my goal to beat her when we go back to CO at X-Mas:)

Of course we had to celebrate my birthday again. The kiddos were allowed to pick out a gift for me at the local drug store. They got me a whoppee cushion. They thought it was pretty great....and to be honest, so did I! :)

The Beginning of the End

Warning...you are about to be bombarded with a series of blog posts. So much has happened in the last month and I have hardly had time to breathe let along post about it. The craziness started a little less than a month ago when I had my birthday. It just so happens that another wonderful, beautiful and talented person shares a birthday with me....Emily! So our sweet husbands (kuddos to Zach and Tyler) pulled together a little get together to celebrate our special day. I hear 28 and 29 are both fabulous years so yeah to us.

Bittersweet

As the time for us to move on in our lives quickly approaches I have had very mixed feelings. I'm very excited to move on to Salt Lake City and further my career and education but am sad to leave Colorado. We have developed life long friendships here and the realization that we will be leaving them has been hard to grasp. I am extremely grateful for my calling in YW. I have grown to love the girls and the leaders and will miss them tremendously. At my last YW mutal night they presented me with a quilt Jeni Allen made for me with all the girls names and a notebook filled with comments from everyone.

Easter 2010

I have been meaning to post this for the last month or so. Made some cute bunny cupcakes for Easter. They sure were cute AND delicious!

YW Missionary Lesson

Sad day...today was the last time I'll get to teach the YW before we move. It was actually a really great lesson on missionary work. We talked a lot about questions that they get asked at school and how to answer them. It just reminded me how special these girls are. I really love them and am going to miss these sweet girls! So for the lesson I made each of them a sister missionary name tag (it's really a sugar cookie).
